For the third time in less than 2 months, snow and frost covered the arid desert in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Just another anomalous weather phenomenon in February 2017.  This anomalous snow is due to an extreme mass of cold air coming from Europe and which spread to North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula causing strong cooling. At the end of December 2016, a snowstorm covered the same region and desert of the Saudi Arabia.
