Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT

I will share on the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT. It is not difficult to be filled with the HOLY SPIRIT but one needs to pray with a sincere heart that wants to receive.

You can pray this prayer or a similar one ” I pray and invite the HOLY SPIRIT to fill me up–from the top of my head to the bottom of my toes, and I pray this in the Name of the FATHER and SON and HOLY SPIRIT. I pray that I no longer will be driving myself around but the HOLY SPIRIT will be driving me around and guiding and directing my paths. Amen.”

Now after you pray this prayer you will want to ‘press in to GOD’, by reading your bible more and praying more. I want you to know that the LORD does not want us ‘snacking’ on HIS Word but prefers us FEASTING on it.

Also you may want to fast from something for a time and it can be anything meaningful to you. It can be desserts or snack foods or soft drinks or meals. It can be fasting from tv, ipod or ipad, or computer or activities or something else you have enjoyed.

When I received the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT I was prayed over in the front of church. I was fervently prayed over but I did not ‘feel’ any different. When they were finished praying I went back to my seat and I said to the LORD, ‘these people were very sincere who prayed over me but I don’t feel any different’.

As soon as I sat down my friend, who is prophetic, leaned over to me and told me the LORD just spoke to her and said the enemy wants me to believe that nothing happened to me when I was prayed over but the LORD wants me to know I was completely filled with the HOLY SPIRIT and I am going to live with HIM for eternity”.

Well, I was very happy to hear this and decided even though I did not ‘feel’ any different I was going to claim this promise. Later in the week after receiving the Baptism I received the gift of prophecy. My husband had the same experience after being prayed over and later that week received the gift of visions.

One does not have to receive the gift of tongues, only, as a sign of the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT. A person may receive another gift like visions, prophetic dreams, prophecy or the interpretation of tongues or others. These gifts are from the HOLY SPIRIT–the LORD decides what gifts we should receive.

A hallmark sign of the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT is receiving a spiritual gift. Sometimes there are ‘blocks’, though, to receiving spiritual giftings associated with the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT and people will come and ask why they have not received a spiritual gift. One big block is unforgiveness. Is there anyone you have not forgiven? If there is then you need to forgive them right now.

Also, pray and ask the LORD to reveal people you may not think of that need your forgiveness. When I did this it went way back to many years prior to grade school. There was a girl in grade school I had not forgiven that I needed to. This went on for some time that the Lord brought people to mind I needed to forgive. I was surprised but thankful as I wanted to be right with the Lord. It is all worth it to get to know HIM, intimately, and be in HIS Will for our lives.

Another block to receiving the HOLY SPIRIT in HIS fullness is sin in our lives. Is there anything you are engaging in that is not pleasing to the Lord? This can be purposeful or something we are not even thinking of. Examples are: reading books that have to do with romance, witches, vampires or the secular. Are you watching secular movies that are ungodly or secular tv shows? What about secular music? Are there any sites on the internet that are not pleasing to the Lord?

Is gossip something you are engaging in or just a complaining spirit? Are you playing online video games? Many of these have demonic characters or evil that we don’t even realize. It is best to stay away from on line or other video games because they are time wasters and we could spend this time pursuing God or others for Him.

Also, there are ‘dark’ board games like ‘Dungeon and Dragons’ that are evil–in this game one has to use spells. Ouija boards are evil and have to do with necromancing–calling up the dead to communicate. Are we involved in secret societies–fraternities, sororities, Masons, Shriners, or any other organization where we took an oath or secret pledge?

We need to repent from those and get rid of anything having to do with them. Is there a hobby or activity that has become an idol to us that takes up our time and attention off of the LORD? There are people who are dying and going to hell every day we could be ministering to instead. Have we spoken any words to someone else to share our faith and help pull them out of hell? Someone took their time at one point or another to speak the Truth to us and we are called to do the same for others. We need to examine our hearts to see if there is something that is keeping us from experiencing GOD in HIS fullness.

First and foremost out of all these words the most important thing is to pursue our relationship with the LORD. HE wants us to read our bibles and pray to HIM as early in our day as possible. HE wants the best part of our day given to HIM–this is like tithing 10% off the top to the LORD.

Then HE wants us to think about HIM and talk to HIM throughout the day like HE is our Best Friend because HE IS OUR BEST FRIEND. When HE held out HIS arms, willingly, to be nailed to the cross HE became the BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO US. HE crucified sin once and for all for us so we would not have to die but could live with HIM for eternity.

HE wants us HOTLY pursuing HIM in an intimate relationship. Now, if we mess up, just repent and come back to HIM. HE knows us and HE knows our hearts just like HE knew King David’s who messed up royally but continually repented and came back to HIM.

For a long time I have prayed for the LORD to take my life and do what He wishes with it. I pray and tell HIM I give Him ‘my arms, my legs, my body, my heart, my mind and spirit–I give HIM my ALL, take me and do what You wish with me today’. When we submit ourselves to GOD and tell HIM we give HIM our ALL something is going to happen. When we submit ourselves to GOD 100% then He will eventually show up in a BIG way!

I have shared with you my experience and understanding of the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT. I pray that you will submit fully, 100%, to the LORD and experience everything HE has in store for your life and the ministry HE has to do through you. AMEN!

Acts 19:1-6 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?” “John’s baptism,” they replied. Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Eph. 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in CHRIST GOD forgave you.

Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Ps. 63:1-11 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, …

Rom. 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
