Necromancing: what is it and why does GOD hate it?

A few months ago, I had an unusual dream that I didn’t know why I dreamt it until, I got into my Bible study that morning then it became an obvious confirmation and object lesson.

In the dream, I was in some house and the phone rang so I answered it and I heard my mother talking to me–it sounded exactly like my mother’s voice and I was shocked because even in this dream I realized that my mother has been gone for a few years.

Then it occurred to me that I was hearing a demon posing as my mother and I hung up right away.

Then I woke up…and I thought wow that was a strange dream but I thought to myself that was about “necromancing”…

Then that morning I went to reading my devotional study and stunningly without any advance warning the whole section was about necromancing and familiar spirits which is exactly what my dream was about.

So, I know GOD wants me to talk about this because there is so much misunderstood about this topic.

When my son was little we were shopping in Wal-mart and my husband and son were in the front of the store and I was all the way in the back–now my son hunted me down and said that when I was in the back and he was up front he heard my voice calling him.

Well I was nowhere near him and I never called him.

You see these evil spirits can copycat your loved ones voice and they can appear to people looking like a deceased relative–hence the Bible calls them “familiar spirits.”

So let’s review:

the word necromancing in the Bible means talking to the dead (necro means death and mancing is derived from the word romancing and this means romancing the dead).

But when it comes to praying to dead saints to find keys the way Catholics do, or talking to Saint Nicolas a dead saint, or people thinking they see apparitions of their dead family members in houses or mediums/psychics calling up dead relatives or people communicating with dead people through Ouija boards are all demons.

The Bible says communicating with demons like King Saul did when he tried to call up the Prophet Samuel through the Witch of Endor is an abomination to GOD.

There absolutely NO difference between what King Saul did and someone who addresses letters to Santa or tries to call up dead Grandma or prays to dead saints to find lost keys….

So here are the scriptures I came to RIGHT AFTER I had that dream:

Leviticus 19:3 (KJV): Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your GOD.
Leviticus 20:6 (KJV): And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (KJV): 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Revelation 9:20 (KJV): And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
